Wealth Advisory

Advice built to survive a market downturn and a SARS audit

We advise on investment strategy, tax structuring and retirement planning as one connected discipline — because a recommendation that's tax-inefficient isn't really a recommendation.

What's covered

Five disciplines, advised as one plan

Each area below is handled by the same advisor on your file, so the tax consequence of an investment decision — or the estate consequence of a retirement decision — is never an afterthought.

01

Investment Strategy

Portfolio construction and review across local and offshore mandates, benchmarked against your actual risk tolerance rather than a standard model.

Family financial planning session covering retirement drawdown modelling
03

How an engagement runs

Five steps, from first call to ongoing review

Nothing about the process is improvised — every engagement follows the same documented sequence, whatever the scope.

01

Discovery call

A 45-minute review of your current position, goals and any deadlines already in motion.

02

Position audit

We map every existing account, policy and structure against fees, tax exposure and stated objectives.

03

Written recommendation

A documented plan with reasoning, alternatives considered, and the trade-offs of each — delivered, not just discussed.

04

Implementation support

We coordinate directly with your fund administrators, accountant or attorney to execute the plan.

05

Scheduled review

Quarterly or annual check-ins, depending on format, to adjust for legislation, markets or life changes.

Questions we're asked often

Frequently asked questions

No. Monverat charges advisory fees only and does not earn commission on the products we recommend, which removes the incentive to steer you toward a particular fund or policy.
Pricing depends on complexity and is confirmed after the discovery call, once we understand the scope. Most single-decision reviews are delivered within five working days.
Yes. Roughly a third of our ongoing advisory clients work with us remotely from Johannesburg, Durban and abroad, with video calls in place of in-person meetings.
We structure and advise; filing is handled by our partner chartered accountants, so nothing falls between two providers.
All client information is processed under documented POPIA controls, with access limited to the advisors directly working on your file.
Ongoing advisory clients get a proactive review whenever a material change occurs — a job offer abroad, an inheritance, a business sale — not just at the scheduled quarterly check-in.
